Can You Be Happy All The Time?

If you’re often wondering how to maintain a happy disposition, it all starts with how you begin your day. You need to learn how to let things go. Do you find yourself holding onto things from the past, unable to move on? Well, here’s a little story for you. Two monks were walking along a river when they came across an Indian bride in her wedding dress. The river was flooded, and the only way to get across was to walk through it. One of the monks picked her up and took her across the river, then put her down on the other side. Two hours later, the other monk asks him, “How could you pick her up? We’re not allowed to touch women.” The first monk responds, “I put her down two hours ago. Why are you still carrying it?”

The point of this story is that many people hold onto things that cause them unhappiness, even when those things are in the past. We need to learn to let them go. Once something has happened, we can’t change it. There’s no point in carrying the burden of the past with us. Instead, we need to focus on moving forward and enjoying life as it unfolds.

Letting go of the past is the easiest advice you can follow to achieve happiness. Holding onto things that have already happened is a waste of time and energy. You can’t change the past, but you can change your attitude towards it. So don’t bury your feelings, let them go, breathe, and relax. Enjoy the present and learn how to let life unfold.
